TOY PICTURE SNAP GAME
Expand upon children’s toy vocabulary whilst playing a fun game of snap (or a memory game of ‘picking up pairs’) with this set of snap cards. The cards are made with a tab/patterned back which can be folded before lamination in order to strengthen the final product. This also means that when turned over, the picture on the front can not be seen.

'DESIGN A TOY' SHEETS
Six ‘Design a toy’ sheets included. Intended to challenge children to think of their own toy designs by giving them a nugget of inspiration, e.g. ‘Design a toy with wheels’ or ‘Design a fluffy toy’. Designs could include drawings and possibly emergent writing such as labels. Children may also describe their designs and an adult could scribe (write down) their thoughts/explanations.

OUR FAVOURITE/FAVORITE TOYS PICTOGRAM DISPLAY
‘Our Favourite Toys’ Pictogram Chart pictures and banner designed for children to not only think about their favourite toy, but also realise that others may not have the same favourite. In addition, children begin to learn about simple graphs and charts. Ideal for use in a classroom, preschool, nursery or childminder setting. Children do not have to necessarily complete the activity at the same time, but a chart can be added to a display and individual children can add their own favourites at appropriate times. Simply place any of the eight large toys on the first page in a horizontal line to form the base of the chart and children can add their own favourite smaller toy above to create the vertical lines of a chart. The lengths of the lines can be compared and number of toys on each can be counted to find totals. Questions such as ‘How many children like toy cars?’ may be asked. To really extend mathematical thinking, questions such as ‘How many more children like playing with footballs than marble runs?’

TOYS SIZE ORDERING CARDS
Toy themed size ordering pictures. Includes Football, Ride-On, Scooter, Blocks, Bricks, Marble Run, Puzzle Cube & Teddy Bear. Intended to be cut out (and ideally laminated) for use by children in repeatable size ordering activities. If you have access to a fuzzy felt board, why not stick velcro tabs on the back so that children can move them around on the board? Alternatively use them as a cut and stick activity (to also strengthen fine motor skills) for the children to take home and discuss with their families using words such as ‘small, smaller, smallest, big, bigger, biggest’.

DESCRIPTION MATCH ACTIVITY
Set of toy themed picture cards with matching description cards. Descriptions intended to be read by adult role-playing as a customer in a toy shop, e.g. “I would like a small toy with wheels.” Child(ren) can then look at the cards in front of them and decide which one best fits the criteria. In this case there are two toys with wheels, the smallest of which is the toy cars. Great for listening, observation and problem solving skills.
