VALENTINE'S DAY FLOWER ORDERS ACTIVITY
After being cut out the flower cards can be spread out on a table or on the floor in front of the child/children.
The speech bubble cards can be piled up ready for a child to pick one. The speech bubble cards can be read by an adult or the child can use the numeral and colour clues to decode it for themselves.
Child then to fulfil the speech bubble request by finding the correct selection of flowers.

FINE MOTOR CONTROL HEARTS - MARK MAKING, LOOSE PARTS, SCISSOR SKILLS
Develop fine motor control using these heart designs. Children could use a pencil to make marks along the dotted lines and colour in each of the sections of their finished art work. Equally, children could be provided with loose part materials in order to place objects along the dotted lines or within the different sections. Fingers or a tool such as tweezers could be used, both aiding the development of fine motor control. These sheets could also be adapted to practise scissor skills.

HEARTS COUNTING PUZZLE/ACTIVITY/GAME - COLOUR & COUNT VERSION
Why not set up an invitation to play using these heart puzzles? Select those appropriate for your children (1-20 available) and allow them to match the number with the corresponding number of hearts. They could colour them as they count! Each pair has a different way of connecting as a puzzle for the children to match and so even if they haven’t learnt what the number looks like yet, but are beginning to say the numbers in order, this can be a fun way to introduce them to new challenges. Once the puzzles are complete, why not line the numbers up in order and count together? If your children would enjoy a further game, leave out a number and see if they can spot which one is missing from the sequence. Puzzles could also be used as a fine motor control/counting activity if left uncut. Children could be given an appropriate number for their learning and encouraged to place objects on the hearts, counting as they go.

Differentiated sheets designed as a thought provoking activity for Mother’s, Father’s, Valentine’s Day or any day in order to discuss how we show people we love them and think about why we love them and what makes them special to us. Designed for children mainly to think about the relationships they have with the people who care for them at home. The activity could also be swayed towards thinking about acts of kindness. Children can experiment with pre-writing and/or draw pictures of their loved ones/begin to make marks which they give meaning to. Adults can also scribe what the children say during discussions.
