COLOUR ACTIVITY CHALLENGE
Have great fun with your children whilst all pretending to do different actions relating to colours with this set of 8 Colour Activity Challenge cards. Colours include: red, yellow, blue, green, orange, black, brown & white.
Perhaps children could stand in a circle around the pile of cards and take turns to pick one for everyone to do. Cards could equally be shrunk down and placed on a key ring to take out on adventures or featured on an indoor or outdoor display board and referred to with everyone carrying out the activity on floor space in front. Once the children get to know the cards they will be able to relate the action to the picture without necessarily needing the card read to them...For example an adult may be able to simply hold up a card and everyone will be able to do the activity together! For those children who are exceptionally engaged, these cards explored in sequence could even be set to music as a dance performance!
Great for physical development, descriptive language, understanding the world and turn taking.

COLOUR WALK CHECKLIST
Colour themed checklists (One with words, one without). Your children will love to use this as part of a ‘Colour Walk’ activity searching for the various Colours within settings/homes or out and about. Use once with mark making tools such as pencils and encourage children to take it home as a stimulus for talk at home. Alternatively, perhaps you might like to laminate sheets and place them with whiteboard pens in an indoor or outdoor free choice area for multiple uses. Challenge…Can you find something for every colour?

COLOUR WALK TALLY
Colour walk tally chart/check list. Your children will love to use this as part of a Colour Walk/Hunt activity. What colours can you all spot in the environment as we walk around the local area?...Or as we walk around our setting/home/outdoor area? Encourage children to make a mark/line in the box next to a colour each time they see it. Children will begin to gain an understanding of tallying. You may also like to use this sheet in conjunction with a 'Colours' themed tuff spot or feely bag.
