RElated Special Dates

National Writing Day

National Writing Day is an annual UK-wide celebration dedicated to the joy and power of creative writing. In 2025, it will take place on Wednesday, 25th June.

Organised by the charity First Story, in collaboration with partners like the National Literacy Trust and BBC Teach, National Writing Day encourages people of all ages and abilities to write for pleasure and self-expression. The day aims to inspire creativity, boost confidence, and highlight the mental wellbeing benefits of writing.

Writing creatively is not only a form of artistic expression but also a tool for personal development. It enhances critical thinking, fosters empathy, and can improve mental health. National Writing Day serves as a reminder of the value of writing in everyday life and encourages people to explore their creativity.
