COLOUR & COUNT SHEETS (1-20)
Encourage your children to colour the objects and count them as they go (1 to 20). Ideal sheets to practise 1:1 correspondence counting (where children place their fingers on the objects as they count them). Also great for learning written numbers and knowledge of items within a particular topic. Children may even enjoy using these as posters to create a themed numberline on their playroom/bedroom wall!

Counting Minibeasts under the magnifying glass sheets. 4 magnifying glasses to each page. (Larger version also available.) Children can be encouraged to count the number of minibeasts under a magnifying glass and write the corresponding number in the box next to it. Differentiate by support given to your individual children in this process.

MINIBEASTS WORD MAT
‘Minibeasts’ word mat. Why not use in conjunction with our ‘Minibeast’ word cards? Includes 12 different minibeasts. Can be used as part of a display or activities. Endless discussions can be engaged in describing these creatures. For example physical attributes such as whether they have wings, armoured bodies, shells, number of legs or body sections, etc. Older children can be challenged to further contemplate ‘how’ and ‘why’ questions building on these observations. For example ‘Why do you think the butterfly has wings?’…or ‘How do you think worms move?’

MINIBEASTS COUNTING PUZZLES (1-10)
Why not set up an invitation to play using these ‘Minibeasts’ counting puzzles? Select those appropriate for your children (1-10 available) and allow them to match the number with the corresponding number of minibeasts. Each pair has a different way of connecting as a puzzle for the children to match and so even if they haven’t learnt what the number looks like yet, but are beginning to say the numbers in order, this can be a fun way to introduce them to new challenges. Once the puzzles are complete, why not line the numbers up in order and count together? If your children would enjoy a further game, leave out a number and see if they can spot which one is missing from the sequence. Puzzles could also be used as a fine motor control/counting activity if left uncut. Children could be given an appropriate number for their learning and encouraged to place objects on the minibeasts, counting as they go.

MINIBEASTS COUNTING PUZZLES (1-10) - COLOURING
Engage your children in counting play by enlisting their help to create their own ‘Minibeasts’ puzzle set. Select those appropriate for your children (1-10 available) and allow them to colour the images and numbers. The puzzles may then be cut out (you can decide whether to work on scissor skills with your child or pre-cut the puzzles). Then encourage your children to have fun playing with their own puzzles! MINIBEAST MULTIMATS - PLAYDOUGH, LOOSE PARTS, ART & CRAFTS
Once laminated these Minibeast Multimats (Woodlouse, Spider, Ant, Centipede, Ladybird, Butterfly & Bee) are ideal to be used as reusable playdough or loose parts mats. Alternatively, use them in conjunction with whiteboard pens. Without lamination these sheets could also be used with mark making tools or art and craft materials.
