World Penguin Day

World Penguin Day highlights one of the world’s most fascinating creatures. There are 18 different species of Penguins in the world, many of which are threatened by climate change.

Penguins are always popular with children, which presents a good opportunity for engaging them in some fun learning!

International Polar Bear Day

International Polar Bear Day draws our attention to the conservation of the largest land carnivore in the world. Polar Bears are always a favourite with children and therefore grant a great opportunity for learning. The day was created to coincide with the time when polar bear mums and cubs are taking shelter in their dens. A large focus for this day is on the need to protect denning families across the Arctic.

Penguin Awareness Day

Penguins are fascinating animals and often a favourite of young children. This day came about to put a spotlight on the conservation of a unique group of birds that live in some of the most inhospitable places on Earth.
